Why I Have Decided to Go on a Liquid Cleanse

Liquids, liquids, liquids 

Recently I have been feeling rundown, emotionally and physically rundown. I am not ashamed to admit that I need a break, a break from food that is. A break from solid food, a break from heavy meals like rice, pasta and bread.
I am currently doing raw till 4, I was going to do a 30 day video series on my raw till 4 journey. However, I have decided to terminate my raw till 4 journey and commence a liquid cleanse. I have no idea how long I am going to be on it for but I know that I need to do it.

What is a Liquid Cleanse?

Well it is pretty self explanatory really, you eliminate solid foods and only consume liquids. Some people only consume freshly squeezed juices, some only drink water with freshly squeezed lemon. However, some include some clear soups and broths with little or no salt. I will be consuming, juices, smoothies, soups and water for the duration of the cleanse. I will not be putting a timeframe on it, I am just going to continue the cleanse until I feel like I need to stop, basically I will be listening to my body and seeing how I feel at any given time.

Are Liquid Diets Dangerous?

Personally, I don't believe that liquid diets are dangerous, as long as you consume enough liquids. You also need to make sure you consume plenty of water and reduce your stress and activity levels. The last time I went on a liquid cleanse, I noticed after the third day I could resume my normal activity level with no issues at all.  In fact my energy levels soared at this time, I felt so happy, so energetic  and so full of life. I actually did more exercise in the last 10 days of the cleanse than I would normally do. It is always best to check with a healthcare professional before embarking on a liquid diet if you have any concerns.


What Are the Benefits of going on a Liquid Cleanse ?

The benefits of going on a liquid cleanse include the following:

  • Provides your  body with the energy to heal 
  • Clarity of mind 
  • gives your body a rest from solid food 
  • Possible weight loss 
  • Clear skin 
  • Stronger nails 
  • Thicker, shinier hair 
  • Convenience 
I have embarked on a number of liquid cleanses over the past few years. I have found that after the first three days, I feel this intense clarity of mind.  I find it easier to make decisions, I don't feel that brain fog that I sometimes get. I have a lot more energy, I wake up earlier without feeling that morning sluggishness. Within a week I usually 8-10 lbs of water weight and my stomach looks visibly flatter, tighter and more toned. After seven days on a liquid cleanse my skin looks brighter, clearer and more vibrant. I always feel better on a liquid cleanse, I am a foodie though so its not something I could do for longer than 30 days. However, I do reap the benefits in that space of time so its all good.

I will be doing a lot of juicing over the next few weeks, check out the juicer that I use. Its not the most expensive or effective juicer in the world, but its pretty decent and I think it does the job very well.  >>>>>>>>
